TRANSFORMING GRIEF INTO HOPE

Harriett’s Daughters provides a supportive community for girls in grades 3–12 in the metro Atlanta area who have lost their mothers to cancer or whose mothers have an end-stage cancer diagnosis.

MENTORSHIP: THE HEART OF WHAT WE DO

OUR MENTORING PROGRAM

Our mentoring program supports adolescent and teenage girls who have lost their mothers to cancer or are navigating an end-stage cancer diagnosis. Through consistent, caring relationships, girls are supported as they build confidence, feel seen and understood, and move forward with a stronger sense of stability and belonging.

Mentoring includes individual and group connections, along with enrichment experiences such as workshops, group activities, and shared learning opportunities that support emotional, social, and academic development.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Participation begins with an application and thoughtful matching process. Mentors and mentees are supported through orientation, ongoing connection, and regular touchpoints, with opportunities to engage in workshops, group activities, and shared experiences that foster growth and connection.

OUR WRAPAROUND SUPPORT

FAMILY SUPPORT

When a mother’s death is anticipated, grief often begins long before the loss itself. Harriett’s Daughters offers family support during this time, helping girls and their families navigate complex emotions, changing dynamics, and the uncertainty that accompanies an end-stage cancer diagnosis. Our support creates space for connection, preparation, and care as families move through this deeply difficult season together.

SCHOLARGIFT PROGRAM

The Scholargift Program provides financial support to eligible young women who have lost their mothers to cancer or whose mothers have an end-stage cancer diagnosis. This support helps ease financial burdens during the transition from high school to college.
